Waiting for my new laptop to arrive.  It will take a while.

Meanwhile, I've been attending the various cinema orientations down here at USC.  The most recent: a two hour seminar on safety and guidelines for filming, basically elaborating at length on why we can't light buildings on fire, film babies without certain restrictions, leave school equipment sitting in a car, leave prop weapons or bombs lying around without very clear labeling, or squish bugs.

Yes, you heard me: no bug squishing.

We have an almost inch thick book on regulations regarding animals, and we're not even allowed to film someone fishing; it has to be simulated using an already dead fish or an animatronic.

Some of us are seriously tempted to film something with a fish, follow all the regulations, have the animal rights representative on set, and then have in the final credits:

NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED DURING THE FILMING OF THIS MOVIE
(but the fish was killed and eaten for dinner afterwards)

And that fish would be delicious.
